Sad News for Old Gold – Jim Daly

May 6, 2015

As some of you may have heard, Jim “Red Ball” Daly passed away yesterday after a fighting a long and heroic 10 year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Many of the current players did not have the privilege of playing with Jim but all of us have heard the stories of his time with Old Gold and how fondly and warmly the old boys speak of him. He was a part of the Old Gold family and sadly was the second Hall of Fame member to be taken from us by ALS. He will also be honored as part of the annual Brian Cody Day (BCD/Red Ball day) and as a tribute Old Gold will be making a donation in Jim’s honor to a charity supporting the fight against ALS. Below are details for visiting hours and the Funeral (Saturday, May 9th). We encourage all members, new and old to attend the visiting hours and pay their respects.
