Reported by Club Captain – John Beatty OG drove up to North Conway with 17 players representing a mix of seasoned campaigners and new-comers to the game. OG lost the first match 17-10 to Portland, but triumphed 28-26 versus Burlington, thanks to a last second tackle by Sam Berry, which prevented a try. Kudos go out to everyone in this one… as I said after the match, be you
a first timer or seasoned vet, I was extremely proud of all of you…. true grit and competitive nature was the driving force in this day, and it’s the type of mentality that’ll launch this team to the top of the D2. Rounds of applause are in order for the following: – Sean Mcfee: The kid is a fuel injected, running/tackling machine. Wow is all i can say. – Chris O’Connor: First match ever… didn’t look like it. Lineout jumping menace. Welcome Chris. – Travis True: Fireplug out on the wing. Opponents didn’t think a small fry like him packed such a punch. Neither did I. Good stuff Trav. – Vos: I forget his full name (apologies) but he came out and was never afraid to put his head down to foul up an opponent runner. Highlight of his performance was him taking on Burlingtons ginormous captain and throwing him down in mid stride. Great stuff Vos! – A.J.: Debut for OG. Kid has a bag of talent and was a demon in open play… good stuff kid, glad to have you.
